Annual Holiday Bazaar
The annual Soroptimist Holiday Bazaar is set for Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Running Y Convention Center. The Silent Auction starts at 11:00, the luncheon to begin at 12 noon, and the raffle drawing at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $25 and include lunch and wine. Scholarships Applications
Two scholarships are now being offered:
The Violet Richardson Award, which recognizes and honors young women between the ages of 14 and 17 who make the community a better place through their volunteer efforts. Deadline for application is December 1, 2012. Click here for more information.
The Women’s Opportunity Award, which is given to a woman who is the head of a household and seeks to improve her economic status by gaining additional skills through education. Deadline is December 15, 2012. Click here for more information.
Violet Richardson Award: A Biography
Klamath Falls: Open auditions for the 2-Act play, Violet Richardson Ward: A Biography, will be held on Wednesday, August 22; Thursday, August 23; and Tuesday, August 28, at 6 p.m. at the Henzel Pavilion of Sky Lakes Medical Center, 2200 N. Eldorado Boulevard, Klamath Falls.
There are speaking parts for 2 men, 10 women, 2 teen-aged girls, and 1 teen-aged boy. The part of Violet Richardson Ward is significant. Parts for the other women vary from no lines to two full scenes. One of the men’s parts is extensive while the other is one scene long. The teens have speaking parts in 2 scenes.
The play is sponsored by Soroptimist International Klamath Falls for their Founders Day celebration. The play will be performed at the Linkville Theater on Thursday, October 25, 2012. There will be an extensive rehearsal schedule in September and October.
